In the upcoming year, mild hybrid engines will come standard on the XC90 and XC40 SUVs and the V60 Cross Country. The all-new electrified lineup is a major step toward the Swedish automaker's commitment to only offering pure electric vehicles by 2030 and becoming carbon neutral by 2040. New vehicles will also come standard with Google built in.
Volvo's mild hybrids are a happy medium for Lincoln drivers who do not have convenient access to charging at home. The automaker's plug-in hybrids have an extended range that delivers the option of all-electric driving in Pure mode with the option of utilizing the gasoline-powered engine. The all-electric small luxury SUV XC40 Recharge and C40 luxury crossover are 100% electric plug-in vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions.
Already standard on Volvo's fully electric vehicles and the XC60, S90, and V90 Cross Country, Google built-in will now be available on all 2023 Volvo vehicles. The feature seamlessly connects Google's digital in-home and phone-based products with life on the road. Omaha drivers will enjoy greater personalization with Google Assistant for voice control, native navigation through Google Maps, and an overall best-in-class digital experience.
Among the upgrades Fremont, Nebraska Volvo drivers will notice in the 2023 vehicles' infotainment system, the ability to receive over-the-air updates will allow the system to update itself. Therefore, the system will continually improve itself over time.
Volvo will also be upgrading its vehicles' styling for 2023. Leather-free material options, new colors, new wheels, and new interior options are available across the entire lineup.
